About Us

INTRODUCTION

The Greek Orthodox Parish-Community of St Anna, Gold Coast, is a spiritual and cultural home for Orthodox Christians across Southeast Queensland and the Northern Rivers of New South Wales. Extending from Beenleigh through the Gold Coast and as far south as Coffs Harbour, the Parish-Community provides a place of worship, fellowship, and service for all who seek the Orthodox faith.

Our mission is to carry on the work of our Lord Jesus Christ and his apostles to the Local Community.

At the heart of our mission is the celebration of the Divine Liturgy and the sacraments of the Church, which offer spiritual nourishment and guidance to the faithful. Alongside its liturgical life, the Parish-Community embraces a wide range of cultural, educational, and charitable activities that nurture the body, mind, and spirit. The Greek Ethnic School of St Anna provides language classes for children and adults, while Sunday School, Bible studies, fellowships, youth groups, and playgroups strengthen the faith and values of younger generations. Cultural dancing, national day celebrations, and festivals preserve and promote the Hellenic identity of the community.

Charitable works are a central expression of the Parish-Community’s mission. The Ladies’ Auxiliary, together with other dedicated groups, fulfil the call of the Church by raising funds and helping those in need. Senior citizens’ gatherings, respite care, and welfare initiatives reflect the ongoing commitment to care for the vulnerable and to foster bonds across generations.

The Parish-Community also welcomes pilgrims and visitors, hosting conferences and gatherings of state and national significance. Though modest in size, the faithful of St Anna are distinguished by their generosity of spirit, resilience, and devotion to the Orthodox Church. Grounded in tradition and guided by the Orthodox faith, the Greek Orthodox Parish-Community of St Anna continues to be a place where faith is lived, culture is celebrated, and community is nurtured.
